I made some changes on Parry’s appearance…
1) By tuning down his spikey hair style;
2) Unsharpen his face, rounded a little;
3) What he is wearing remains the same, but with “explosive” colors to make Parry still a bad-ass kid who so passion in rocket science;
4) Blue shorts, to cool down the “burning rocket” above Parry torso.

Parry ver.1.0
The first version I did after changing feature mentioned, the physical scale is small, short legs and arms, big palm and head;

Parry ver.2.0
This version has the same features but in a different scale, a more refined version with little realistic touch, though the face still looks the same.

Photoshop to get GPU and physics acceleration

OMG, atlast graphic applications make use of hardware graphic acceleration!!!

Santa Clara (CA) – GPU acceleration is one of the most significant trends in today hardware industry, opening the doors to an entirely class of software running desktop. What will be possible is fascinating to see on a monitor, nut it is not tangible, if you just hear about it. It appears that the next Photoshop will be one of the first mainstream applications that will tap into the GPU for a speed up. And, at least from what we have seen during a first demonstration, the progress is simply stunning… (read the full story).

Humanized Cartoons – Jessica Rabbit Untooned

Remember Jessica Rabbit? She is the sultry human cartoon wife of Roger Rabbit in the 1988 Academy-Award winning film Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The movie mixed action with animation to create a marvelous “toon” universe.
Jessica Rabbit was “untooned” and made to look lifelike and the result is pretty impressive.

“I was able to complete the face relatively quickly but the real challenge was everything from her neck down,” the designer says of the untooning process. “Trying to piece together parts of a body from multiple photos on top of a highly disproportionate body was pretty difficult. I considered only doing the face but I predicted pitchforks and torches if I chose that route.”

Drawing With Mosquitos – Malaria Kills More Than Hitler, Stalin, Tanks & Bombs

A campaign by África Directo. The message that “Nothing and no one takes as many lives as malaria” is ingeniously delivered by drawing portraits of infamous dictators such as Stalin and Hitler, who have the blood of millions on their hands, using hundreds of mosquitos.

The print ads also use mosquitos to depict killing machinary such as tanks and fighter jets dropping bombs. The wonderful campaign was created by Spanish ad agency Sra. Rushmore with great art direction by Ana Delgado and Marta Herradura, and creative direction by Miguel García Vizcaíno and Paco Conde.

Zipper Clasps – ZipHolder

As most guys know, an open zipper can be pretty embarrassing.

Well, worry no more. The ZipHolder makes sure you avoid such embarrassing situations, as it neatly and securely holds the zipper in place. The mechanism is achieved by attaching a small “rope” to the zipper handle which can be hooked to your jeans’ button whenever you want to secure the zipper.

I would think it’d would be an annoying extra step to unhook it before you can zip down when you need to go the bathroom really fast though.
